About The Event

We are delighted to announce that Emma Cariaga will be our Thinking Out Loud speaker in December. Emma is Joint Head of Canada Water at British Land and is a member of the Executive Committee.

There is an incredible opportunity at Canada Water to create a vibrant neighbourhood for people to live, work and enjoy. This exceptional, mixed-use and sustainable landmark development, has been designed to support people’s wellbeing.

The Masterplan creates a blueprint for an exciting new town centre that will provide thousands of homes, particularly hundreds of social rent houses, jobs and opportunities, as well as open spaces.

The ambition is to ensure the local residents are the beneficiaries of the opportunities the regeneration will provide, as laid out in the “Canada Water Social Regeneration Charter.” The development will bring significant benefits to the local economy and community.

Emma will share her thoughts on how British Land’s vision will shape social parity, for the 53-acre masterplan site which also includes, Surrey Quays Shopping Centre, Surrey Quays Leisure Park, the Printworks and the former Dock Offices courtyard and will no doubt,  be one of the UK’s most ambitious urban regeneration projects for years to come.
